Ho hum.

Just got my month's notice from EDS. Not that I'm too surprised – the project I was hired to work on is pretty much done, and there's apparently nothing else available for me to do within the local ABN AMRO offices, so that's that.

It does make you think, though – thinking back on the jobs I've had and their various circumstances. I am proud to be able to say that I have never been expelled from a job because I was no good at it. I have mostly left because I wanted to move on, or in two (as of today) cases because there was no more work there for me to do.

I am equally proud to be able to say that every job I have had I've got on merit – I may have got interviews through contacts, but every job I've landed I've been able to do, and do pretty well. That means there have always been mutual positives – I've always been of benefit to the people I work for, rather than a lead weight, taking up space and dragging them down, wasting my time and theirs trying to do stuff I'm completely unqualified for.

And so the hunt begins anew. New vistas are opened, new possibilities made available. One of which is the possibility of sitting at home without any work, of course, but I think that one might be easier to avoid this time around, or at least easier to cope with.

Excelsior!
